Research ethics in a changing social sciences landscape

I was asked to present my talk “Research ethics in a changing social sciences landscape” at the UCL Research Ethics Conference “Frontiers in Best Practice in Research Ethics” in September 2022. This is the recording from my talk, which is based on my article in the Research Ethics journal.

Access the Open Access article here.

I begin with a brief outline of the changes we experience within the social sciences before exploring in more detail their impact on research ethics and the practices of research ethics committees. I conclude with recommendations for how the existing research ethics processes may be made more future-proof.

A google alert just picked up a piece you wrote which mentioned the NZ ethics committee “Research ethics in a changing social sciences landscape”. Great paper. Just thought I’d drop a line to sat that we’ve changed to Aotearoa Research Ethics Committee. Should be popping up on the web in the next week or so.
